Presentation Skills Workshop - Vocal Dynamics and Drama (and Distractions) In-Person
Think about your favorite orator or narrator. Recall how they utilize different pitches, tones, and volumes to set a mood and build a scene. This is the power of vocal dynamics and drama. It captures and holds the audience's attention and helps lead them to experience the same excitement and emotions you have toward your research and results.
In this session, learn how to bring drama and pizazz to your presentation. Along the way, learn what to avoid (i.e., monotone and expressionless string of words) that will distract the audience from the insights into your research.
This workshop is for current students, postdocs, and research fellows who would like to improve their oral presentation and communication skills.
Preparation is key, but practice is absolutely essential in helping you to deliver an impactful, confident, and engaging presentation. Non-native speakers of English are especially encouraged to attend.
This class will review some of the important techniques that will help you prepare for, and execute, a public speech for any occasion.
No two workshops are ever the same!
