Drop-In Zine-Making at Countway In-Person
Anti-Nuke Zine Party!
This month's theme is in celebration of our current multi-floor exhibit, Prescriptions for Peace, which traces physician anti-nuclear activism from 1961-1985. Join us to learn about the medical model for anti-nuclear activism, zine making, and more!
We will also have snacks and some fun swag items!
Monthly zine-making workshops
Are you interested in alternative publishing? Do you want to express an idea in a new way? Are you bored on a Wednesday?
Well, zines may just be the thing for you!
Join us for monthly drop-in zine-making sessions at Countway Library.
You bring the ideas; we'll bring the supplies and encouragement! No prior experience needed!
What exactly is a zine?
Zines [pronounced ZEEN] are a self-owned means of publishing that has a variety of lineages including underground Black literary publishing, science fiction fandom, Punk culture, the Queer community, and Feminist organizers. Zines can be on any topic as mundane as a tribute to your favorite sodas, as useful as a cookbook, or even supplement a conference presentation with a memorable handout.
No artistic talent or prior experience required! But we do encourage doodlers, collagists, paper artists, scrapbookers, and the otherwise artistically inclined to join for a fun drop-in session.
