Better Research II: Writing a Data Management and Sharing Plan

Better Research II: Writing a Data Management and Sharing Plan In-Person

What: Join this workshop to ensure your research projects are set up for success by writing a Data Management and Sharing (DMS) Plan before data collection begins! We will discuss what elements to include in a compliant Plan, introduce you to the DMP Tool to help write your Plan, and discuss how to get feedback on your Plan.

Why: Institutions and funders (government and private) require making data associated with research available to the community. Every project should start with a plan for how data will be managed throughout and after the project. These plans are integral to saving you research time, money, and effort.

How: This is a free 1.5-hour in-person workshop, consisting of lecture, hands-on activity, and discussion. This class will focus on using the free platform DMP Tool to write, share, and publish your DMS Plan. This live class will not be recorded.

Where: Classroom L1-024 on Lower Level 1 of Countway Library. [Also available online on a different day/time.]

Who: This seminar is open to faculty, research staff, postdoctoral researchers, and students from all disciplines. There are no prerequisites or assumptions of knowledge. In-person workshops are open to Harvard University ID holders only.
