Please join us for a conversation – moderated by Sandra Fenwick – to hear about Dr. Rabkin’s remarkable journey and his reflections on leadership in medicine and
healthcare.

For over six decades, Dr. Mitchell T. Rabkin has been a transformative leader in academic medicine and hospital administration. Following his graduation from Harvard Medical School and training at Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Rabkin became President of Beth Israel Hospital in 1966, leading the institution for 30 years, including through its merger with New England Deaconess Hospital to form Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. In 1996, Dr. Rabkin joined with then-HMS Dean Daniel C. Tosteson to help establish the Carl J. Shapiro Institute for Education and Research, a joint initiative of HMS and BIDMC dedicated to improving
medical education and patient care. He continues to serve as the Institute's Distinguished Scholar, Professor of Medicine at HMS, and CEO Emeritus of
BIDMC.
