SUMMARY:Anatomy Day 2025
DESCRIPTION:The Countway Library's Center for the History of Medicine\,
including its Warren Anatomical Museum Collection\, holds an extraordinary
collection of rare books and artifacts testifying to the complex history of
anatomy. On Thursday\, December 11\, we invite you to explore
transformative anatomical atlases such as those by Vesalius (1543) and
William Hunter (1774)\, learn about historical aids for anatomical
education from many parts of the world\, observe artifacts from Harvard’s
19th-century teaching collections\, and discuss ethical transgressions in
anatomy. Members of HMS faculty\, along with archivists and museum
specialists\, will be at hand to discuss such exceptional books and
artifacts with students and the greater Longwood community.\n
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity to see fascinating and
instructive highlights from Harvard's medical history collections and learn
more about Countway's resources and services.\n\nNo registration is
